Job Description: Mobile Vet Practice: Veterinary Field Technician Location: Mobile Vet Truck (Various locations throughout Interior Alaska) Shift hours: 8am to 6pm, though hours may vary at times. Reports To: Lead Veterinarian / Practice Manager Overview: This role is integral to our daily operations, providing essential support both on the road and behind the scenes. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and skilled in handling a variety of tasks to ensure smooth appointment flow and efficient practice management. Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary field. Key Responsibilities: On-the-Road Support: Drive and operate the mobile veterinary unit safely and responsibly to all scheduled appointments. Assist the veterinarian with patient care during appointments and procedures, including handling animals, preparing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the mobile unit, ensuring it is fully stocked with necessary supplies and medications. Support the flow of appointments by managing patient records and assisting with administrative tasks. Putting together invoices and taking client payment Package and submit all diagnostic samples Administrative Duties: Ensuring inventory is adequate, well stocked, not expired and communicating with the Inventory Manager of any ordering needs. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, leveraging a strong background in technology to ensure seamless operation of practice management systems. Cleaning surgical instruments, wrapping and autoclaving surgical packs and performing equipment maintenance as assigned Client Communication: Answer client communications, addressing inquiries and providing information about services as needed to support the communications specialist and workflow. Maintain professional and empathetic interactions with clients to ensure a positive experience. Collaboration and Team Support: Work closely with the lead veterinarian and practice manager to support daily operations and improve practice efficiency. Collaborate with scheduler to ensure continuity of care and operational consistency. Utilizing daily and weekly checklists as assigned. Starting pay minimum of $25/hr. Raises assigned based on experience/performance and responsibility Monthly health stipend for full time status (30hrs/week) PTO accrual, roughly 3 weeks/year for full time equivalent $1,000 in CE annually for full time status Employee discount for pet care​ Preference will be given to licensed techs and applicants who are interested and qualified to assist with both communications and field technician duties. Position: Client Communication & Scheduling Specialist (comms team) Location: Mobile Vet Practice (Remote position) Shift Hours: 8am - 5:30pm, hours may vary some Reports To: Practice Manager, Lead Tech, & Scheduling Coordinator. Minimum of 2 year work experience in the veterinary field required Overview: This role is crucial in managing client interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a seamless communication flow between our team and our clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a flexible schedule, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks both remotely and on-site. Key Responsibilities: Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all client inquiries via phone, email and social media messages. Schedule and confirm veterinary appointments, ensuring an efficient appointment flow and minimal wait times. Address client concerns, provide information about services, and manage any follow-up communications as needed. Ensuring follow ups are addressed in a timely manner to maintain patient care Maintain a professional, empathetic, and friendly demeanor in all client interactions. Ensure all pre appointment paperwork and information is as up to date as possible prior to appointment, including need for pre visit pharmaceuticals (PVPs) Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate appointment schedules for the mobile vet practice, balancing client needs with the availability of veterinary staff. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes, cancellations, and urgent requests. Ensure that all scheduling software is up-to-date and functioning correctly. Field Support: Assist with on-the-spot scheduling adjustments and client interactions during mobile visits. Providing support to field team as needed; examples include rearranging schedule or relaying info to clients as needed in case issues arise throughout the work day Assisting with collecting client payment if field team is limited in doing so Work week: Minimum 30 hours maximum 40 hours a week Shifts are M-F 8a-6p, half shifts are 4 hour days Ability to be fully remote position utilizing cloud based veterinary software, Quo for client communication and Slack for staff communication Pay/benefits: Starting pay $25/hr, raises assigned based on experience/performance and responsibility Monthly health stipend and phone stipend for full time status (30hrs/week) PTO accrual, roughly 3 weeks/year for full time equivalent $1,000 in CE annually for full time status Employee discount for pet care ​ Preference will be given to applicants who are interested and qualified to assist with both communications and field technician duties.
